CVP have teamed up with RED and DJI to bring an acquisition, motion and workflow roadshow to various universities across the UK. Bringing with us plenty of RED and DJI gear and industry experts to provide a hands on pro led workshop all about using dynamic range for creative shots and the importance of motion, whilst simultaneously introducing students to RED and DJI products that are being used by top industry professionals.
Our first workshop at Birmingham City University was a huge success and this week we took the roadshow to Goldsmiths University, along with Steve Johnson and Jon Theobald representing RED and Ben Norton representing DJI.
We have three demo areas at the roadshows the first being acquisition, which provides students with hands on experience with the RED DSMCS2 camera systems with cinematographer and director Steve Johnson overseeing this area, providing his expert knowledge on the RED Gemini, Helium and Monstro, all three of which we have on hand for students to get to grips with.
The next demo area, motion, with Ben Norton from production company Out Filming focuses on using DJI products such as the Ronin 2 and Ronin-S with RED DSMC2 cameras. Again we have kits set up including the Gemini and Helium paired with the Ronin 2 for students to use, with Ben on hand talking about his experiences using the products and answering any questions.
The final demo is all about workflow with Jon Theobald where he talks about managing data and working with Redcode RAW R3D and IPP2 workflow, with a live demo and the opportunity for students to use the software themselves during this.
The roadshows are proving to be very popular so far and we hope to take them to as many universities as we can as there is no better way to learn about the products than getting hands on experience with them.
We have also put together the kits used at the roadshows over on our CVP Kits page.
